I honestly believe snowlaw based on what Ive read today from various news outlets. Monty's comments seem to almost call out Gordon. Also I found it interesting that Gordon was "escorted out" of practice by team officials because he did not want to comment. Im done with this clown, he need to be shipped out. We dont need his "unmanly" attitude effecting our young team.

Why does everyone assume he even wants to play to raise his trade stock? He clearly isn't as passionate about playing basketball as he once was, and he just got a huge payday. So if he doesn't want to play and he's already rich he's just going to ride this out until the NBA runs him out of the league. He wouldn't be the first disappointment to get an injury, recover from injury, collect a check, fake the effects of the injury and get out of the game. Brandon Roy anyone?

Voiding Gordon's contract would make him a UFA, that's a reward in and of itself so not a good remedy either. If true then this is just a bad situation where the best solution is hoping to get a Gay/Granger/Jennings on December 15th

Look, as much as this sucks, I'm still thrilled about today. Hell, I'm wearing my Hornets jersey in One Shell Square at work, and when people look at me like I'm crazy I explain that I'm just dressed as a Hornets player today. I'm pumped to see AD, Ryno, Rivers, JSmitty, Sideshow Bob...the whole crew.

The "no guarantees" crap really gave me a feeling. Most players would speak like Rivers and say they'll try their best or they'll do everything they can tp get out there to help their team. This fool only says "no guarantees.". Smh

Brandon Roy actually played. He played just days after having knee surgery. Gordon apparently takes a full year to recover from a minor knee operation. Roy only originally retired because a doctor told him that if he continued playing basketball, he could lose his ability to walk later in his life.
This is ridiculous what Gordon is doing. Maybe, just maybe, there is legitimacy to his "injury", but I just don't see it. I think it's all in his mind. The only good news is that the team won't be hamstrung because of his contract since the rest of the key players on the team also have 4 years left on their deals (Anderson, Lopez, Davis, Rivers). It's also a good thing the new CBA dropped the max deals you could give from 5 years to 4 (except if the player meets specific criteria - which Gordon did not).

To whoever asked if this dampens the excitement of the season...maybe not for everyone else, but it dampens it for me. Gordon could've made this team special, and after all the good news we've had, something like this just sort of rains on my parade. I'm pretty bummed about it. I'm not going to get angry at Gordon, but I'm pretty unhappy.

So, the Rockets trade for Harden (and give him 5 yrs, 80mil) and now all of a sudden Gordon's got an owie that the doctors don't understand. Sounds like he's pissed that a potential trade destination was taken off the table and he might have decided to take a vacation until December 15th.
This looks like the culmination of a long standing problem that began when Stern voided the Lakers trade. He stated he wanted a better deal for the Hornets (as de facto GM) and younger talent. On its face, the trade we got fit the bill and arguably was better than the Lakers deal. But most of that hinged on Gordon (and to a lesser extent Aminu developing). Little since Gordon arrived has suggested he wanted to be here after the trade. For a while it looked like he might be on board with the program, but that might have been wishful thinking by the front office. To be fair, they just couldn't let a major asset from the trade walk out the door and a healthy, motivated Gordon is a building block for a young franchise. But it just looks like his statements from the summer are how he really felt. I don't know why exactly (the suns aren't going anywhere either) and I don't know why they had similar problems with Chris Kaman. But for whatever reason, the ex-Clips don't look happy here. At least we got AD out of the deal.
I'm not Gordon's biggest fan, having watched him extensively as a Clipper. A couple months ago I made some derogatory comments about him being the exact opposite as Kobe from a mental standpoint and got shot down.
But I think you guys are overreacting a little. Lets give this a little time. I bet in a week or two it will work itself out one way or another, even if the team and Gordon come to the agreement to showcase him for a trade. The fact he tried out for the Olympics actually probably does mean he has passion for the game. After all, you don't get paid as a player to play, so a lazy player would never bother. Either Gordon is injured and he will shortly get better or he is still pissed about matching Phoenix's offer and if that's the case, someone is eventually going to get in his ear and make him realize the error of his ways.
Worse comes to worse, this is exactly the kind of thing that the "Eddie Curry" rule was created to help with. If we use the stretch provision on him this year, we stretch his contract out to 4 x 2 + 1 years, so 52 mill cap hit across 9 years, which is about 5.5-6mill against our cap per year. At least we won't be completely unable to compete.
