I'm not in love with Pelicans......but it's better than most of the names I've heard.....so I can deal with it.

It's the silly logic that our name needs to be something intimidating. Like teams will give a damn. If the Cats (really, Charlotte?) rebranded to the Destruction Sharks from Krypton would that make their team suck any less based on what people think of their team name?
I want Voodoo and Krewe. But whatever. It's a Louisiana name and no more Hornets is the most important thing.

I will say i like Krewe or Voodoo more then Pelicans... But if we are the New Orleans Murder Birds (which will be MY name for em) so be it.
Like it REALLY matters..... After a year of being the Pelicans or whatever they become no one will care.

No you won't. It's just like the Thunder. Nobody liked that name, their logo, or their color scheme when it all first came out. But now, when was the last time anyone said anything about it?

Yea the Knicks, Magic, Thunder, Bobcats, Lakers, Nuggets, Nets, Bucks, Wizards, Kings are sooooooooo much better then Pelicans.
I mean if you really think about it MOST team names are "jokes" "lame" and "stupid".
Dunno bout you guys but i watch basketball for basketball not because I think the "team name is awesome!"
I'm going to support the team regardless but some of u kill me thinking that ur bigger fans because u like every name in the rebrand thread.
I don't think its a "bigger" fan issue. It's more of an apathy issue for me when it comes to the team name.
The Lakers name came from another city. You guys want to change the Hornets name because it came from another city.
