    I don't like Pelican at all for a basketball name. Doesn't fit well.

    This is 100% true. People are so quick to cry about this, even with the memory that Spirit and Angels were once primary names as well, and nothing came of that either. I have names I like better than others, but I'm just excited that the rebrand will be happening. Even if it's Krewe I won't complain about it.

    New Orleans is about Mardi Gras as well. New Orleans Carnival would be the next best thing to the New Orleans Jazz.

    I think that most of us would agree the best option is bringing the "Jazz" name back home.

    but since that more than likely won't happen... I will cheer for whatever the artist formerly known as the New Orleans Hornets will be called. I will buy their merchardise, I will go to games when I can, and I will cheer them unconditionally... and I'd hope all of you bemoaning the "Pelicans" name do the same... even if they are called the Pelicans (or shortened to Pels)

    either way... it'll mostly be about the look... and I hope they come up with a look we all agree with... no matter what the name eventually becomes
