Just stroll in.

Hey, Guy from NJ again. Will be going to the 2nd home game vs Utah. What is security like at the arena? Will I get a full pat down, etc? I always carry a knife, especially in a strange city that I don't know, etc. It goes without saying that "weapons" aren't allowed in the arena, but we all know that some places have tight securty, and some places you just stroll in. Hope I'm not coming across as a psycho, it's been yrs since I wacked anyone![]()
Just stroll in.

I've been searched with a wand most of the time I walk in.

If they refuse you entrance then just bust out your knife on them.
They don't do anything unless you have a bag. However i would not recommend strolling in with a knife.
I have been jumped / held up numerous times in this city..every-time the "thug" has a GUN.
Pulling a knife will more then likely get you shot.
That being said there are TONS of people around the arena you'll be fine.
I've never had a problem in the french quarter or CBD. All the times I've had problems have been shady areas...

I went to school at Holy Cross (in the 9th ward Pre K) Got held up at gunpoint right outside of Campus twice.
Once right by the saenger theater..i parked a liiiilll too close to the projects.
So yea. Not exactly "tourist" areas by any means.
It's not very tight, sometimes you can just walk right in most of the time it's just a wand. You don't need to bring a knife to the CBD regardless.
Wherehappens.
They do randomly up security to wanding and a pat down. Usually, though, you just walk in.
Thanks for the responses. Yeah, a blade isn't doing squat if you get a gun in your face, I've been around the block and know when to pull and when not to. Its more for punks / drunks who might come at you with thir fists or at most another knife. And for other circumstances - an out of control dog, whatever. I collect knives, involved with "knife rights", etc. If anyone has any interest in blades would be happy to discuss outside this Forum. I guesss I won't take the chance of carrying into the game.
Who Dat: Sorry to hear of those experiences you had. Stay safe man.....
There's no security alive that can stop me!
Guess who is putting in time at WBOK 1230 AM Talk Radio... Don't guess, it's me. Tune in on Fridays at 12 noon for Sport-a-Talk with Roe Brown and you might just hear me!
Feel free to PM me for details.
You get the wand sometimes.
Leave the knife at the hotel.

You don't need a knife at the New Orleans Arena.
Unless we are playing the Detroit Pistons.
