He'd be a definite mismatch on the arc for other 3's, but I just don't see him getting around pretty much ANY 3's in the league off the dribble.

Better as a pick and pop 4 I think.

I'd agree, but that is only if we move Davis to Center, which I'm not sure we do - at least not this year. I'd rather see Anderson at the 5 and create that crazy mismatch on the perimeter.

I am kind of surprised Alabi was a FA, any news on why Raptors let him go? If he can play D I think he would be a great addition to the team as a young backup 5.

Anderson will benefit from having a SF who can shoot next to him. Otherwise teams will play their SFs on him.

Asked Ryan Anderson what position he thinks he'll play this year, he said he doesn't know yet but the 3, 4, or 5 is fine.

Maybe he will backup all three spots. That would be nice, if he could be the first non-guard off the bench.

New Orleans Hornets rookie Anthony Davis will have to work on time mangement this season, says veteran Ryan Anderson

New Orleans Hornets veteran forward Ryan Anderson knows a little bit about being the teammate of an NBA superstar, having spent time his three previous NBA seasons side-by-side with center Dwight Howard.

So as Hornets rookie power forward Anthony Davis, the first overall pick in the NBA draft, made the station-by-station rounds at New Orleans' media day Monday afternoon at the Alario Center, Anderson remembered the circus that enveloped the Magic as the soap opera that surrounded Howard's contract status played itself out.

He's ready, Anderson said, to offer the 19-year-old Davis some advice.

"He has a lot of buzz, a lot of hype and a lot of pressure," said Anderson, who joined the Hornets' in July in a sign-and-trade agreement with Orlando that sent Gustavo Ayon to the Magic. "He's the type of guy who's going to be good as he puts the work in to be. I think, obviously, he has the ability, the natural ability, the physical ability. He can just play. He has a great sense and knack for the game.

"A guy like him (you can) never be relaxed, just listen to people tell you how great you are. Just keep working at it and keep getting better. I think he needs to get stronger. That's a big thing for him. But as long as he keeps working and has the same head that he has now, he's got a very bright future. I'm excited to see where his career is going to go."

Time management, however, could be as crucial to Davis' first-year success as the steps he takes to improve his physical presence, court awareness and strength and conditioning.

New Orleans Hornets owner Tom Benson addresses team and says he's all about winning

Appearing at his first New Orleans Hornets' media day event since purchasing the franchise for $338 million in April from the NBA, owner Tom Benson posed for team photos and addressed the team Monday at the Alario Center.

He told players that he’s all about winning and he wants them to work hard. During a team photo session, Benson was seen giving a thumbs-up sign as he stood next to his smiling wife, Gayle.
Benson was not made available to the media and he quickly left after the team’s photo session ended.

Joining Benson at media day was his trusted right-hand man, Dennis Lauscha, who is the president of both the Saints and Hornets. Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis, who also holds a dual role as the Hornets’ Executive Vice President, also attended.
