Thread: Gustavo Ayon Starting Center?

    Gustavo Ayon Starting Center?

According to ESPN's depth chart, Gustavo Ayon is the starting center. With Rob Hennigan looking to move Al Harrington most likely for a draft pick, it is completely plausible. Goose is way better than Nikola Vucevic and Kyle O'Quinn.

Here are two good reads about our former fan favorite.

It was plausible until the part where they anticipate getting a draft pick for Al Harrington. They'd probably have to give a draft pick to get rid of that deal.

Give the guy minutes and he shows starter potential. Glad they're giving him the opportunity.

Good for him. I was sad to see him go since his energy in the early part of the season was fun. However, it works out for the best because now he has this opportunity to outplay his contract and make some real money down the road.

I think Harrington's contract is only guaranteed this year, so some team may certainly give up a pick for him at the deadline.

It's half guaranteed for the two years after that, so any team that traded for him would have to pay him 3.5 and 3.8 million to not play for them in 2013 and 2014. Even if you have a player who's making 7m who's pretty terribly overpaid, Harrington is not a great solution.
