Better now than right before the season. Same goes for Rivers and Henry.
Honestly if his other years are only partially guaranteed i really see nothing to worry about here.
The Hornets must have known this already, right?
Don't players usually have to pass a physical before a trade can happen? Like what happened when we tried to trade Tyson a few years back. Unless they already knew about it and still wanted him anyway. I guess that is the case here.
Wait, how did he tear it? And when?
Also, about hte physical, you can waive the need for a physical if you trust the player to recover from whatever injury they have.
He underwent surgery for a MENISCUS TEAR not MCL. Huge difference, if he had a MCL repair, which is an unusual isolated procedure, he would likely be out 3-6 months. If he had a meniscus tear debridement, he should be ok for training camp. if he had a repair of the meniscus, 4-6 months!
He had been battling injury for quite some time, some people attributed his decline in play to it. Therefore, the hornets acquire him, get's him surgery, and allows him to get 100% (or close to it) so that he won't be able to make any excuses come the beginning of the season.
Yes, thread title needs to be edited. Meniscus and MCL are not the same thing.
Nothing much to make of it really.. he'll be ready by camp. Should be okay. Just get everyone feeling 100% come October/November and we're all fine.
Man, it seems like a lot of our guys have had surgeries this off season. Hope that we can stay healthy during the season.
@DanielVeuleman
ohhhh....smooth but the contracts not guranteed soooo.. im good
John Reid "Center Robin Lopez, who the New Orleans Hornets acquired in a trade from the Phoenix Suns on July 27, underwent successful surgery Saturday to correct a tear of his medial meniscus in his left knee."
