Writer wrongly rips the Hornets in a badmitton article!

Mike Rosenberg from SI had this to say about the Badmitton "scandal"--

Eight Olympic badminton players have been disqualified for not trying hard enough, and all across America, Badminton Nation is horrified. This is simply not what the sport needs. No, what the sport needs is a good old-fashioned steroids scandal. I knew something was fishy. No man should be able to hit a birdie that hard!

The eight players are from China, South Korea and Indonesia. They are accused of "not using one's best efforts to win a match," according to Craig Reedie, vice president of the International Olympic Committee, an organization that passionately believes in fair play when it is convenient. The tipoff was that the players all wore New Orleans Hornets jerseys.

That one is just patently false, too. If you're going to burn us, at least base them in reality.

His joke is that Stern took the Clippers trade so that we'd suck this year.. when in reality we would've been okay had Gordon stayed healthy.

It's just a cheap shot and really poor joke that's not even needed in this article. I expect more from SI.

Saying he got New Orleans confused with Charlotte would have been more believable. Just tell him it's ok to admit that he doesn't follow the NBA or Hornets well enough to have made that joke. And inform him that Monty got a 2nd place coach of the year vote based on how hard he got such a bad team to play every night.

But in an historic season for tanking, how can you pick the Hornets as the worst offenders, over teams like the Bobcats and Warriors?

Its very simple. Lots of teams tanked and Hornets won the lottery. Therefore, it was a very good chance to assume the Hornets tanked. This was about all the thought the writer put into it.
