I dont think we have that 18 mil space anymore after the Lopez deal. but more deals could be made.

Dell Demps has done a great job retooling roster moving forward. Only players from last year will be Vasquez, Gordon, Aminu, Henry, Smith, and Thomas. Other than Henry who I expect to moved before end of year (as well as Warrick), pretty good foundation when you add the rookies with Anderson/Lopez. Means we will have 9 new players on roster this year. I expect us to sign a backup SG assuming we don't make another trade. Possiblities include Willie Green, Roger Mason, Carlos Delfino, and Jodie Meeks.
Here is lineup so far assuming we sign a backup SG and get Roberts and Bowles off the summer league team:
PG: Vasquez, Rivers, Roberts
SG: Gordon, BACKUP SG FA SIGNEE
SF: Aminu, Henry, Miller
PF: Davis, Anderson, Thomas, Warrick
C: Lopez, Smith, Bowles
I expect this lineup to be competitive and fight for a 6-8 seed in the West. The big jump will be in 2013-2014 when we will have all of the above players plus 19 million in salary (Lewis, Henry, Warrick) to go after a max free agent at either PG or SF.
What are your thoughts on this year's roster and what else needs to be added as well as the future of the Hornets?

Backup SG is our biggest need left. Maybe a veteran SF.
Also doubt Bowles will make the final roster. Maybe tc invite, but that's it.

I think Henry stays at sg and we look for a SF.

Feel free to PM me for details.
We are done now, nothing more... we have our crappy team, we will not be contending for the playoffs and im fine with that, I just want our core to get used to one another, and then we'll be good. Then we can focus on next season and next offseason
New Orleans Pelicans-Seattle Seahawks-Atlanta Braves-Anaheim Ducks
PERFECTION
Baptize them in the water out of Scarface pool,
And feed 'em from the table that held Corleone's food,
If you die, tell them that you played my game
I hope your bullet holes become mouths that say my name.
We will make the playoffs with this team.
"I'm not going to allow my putative owner to answer that question, this is an NBA related press conference. Paul Tagliabue and Roger Goodell have collectively sung their praises of Tom and if uh ESPN has a problem with that tell Mr. Skipper to call me at my office."
why dont yo come back then, Vinny, dont yo think somebody might take offense to you calling our team crappy? or what?
We had quite a few interesting conversations as we pondered and navigated the nightly canopy.
We are putting a lot of pressure on our young guys though, you guys are making it seem like Rivers already has the ball handling guard spot down and everything, it takes time, and Davis is still a little underweight for the NBA, I think he will be effective nonetheless but i think we will be greatly improved from the season coming up to the next season after that.
People still think Bowles is making the roster?
I BELIEVE IN YOU BRIAN ROBERTS
I look at what Monty did last year with a bunch of scrubs after Gordon, Okafor, and Ariza went down, and we were still a very competative team. I think we start slow, but after the all-star break i believe we will start coming together and make a serious run at the play-offs, this is the best bench we have had since the Hornets have been in New Orleans.
Next year the contracts of Lewis (13 million), Warrick (4.5 million), and Henry (2 million) come off books. Depending on structure of Lopez contract, we are currently about 4-5 million over cap but still have mid level exemption to use. That leaves us with about 15 million in cap space for next year. Don't think we need any more depth....need near max player to add to this group ala CP3, Rudy Gay, Stephon Curry, Iggy. If not, won't be able to contend with super teams building in Miami, Boston, OKC, Jersey. Makes for a fun year to watch this year and adds excitement to future.
Any other signees this year should be one year deals.
They did the best they could, with what they had and it will be fun watching the team get better.
I think people are setting the bar a lil high with this team we are very young. I don't expect us to win big fast like the chris paul days when we jumped 20 wins the following season. Winning to soon actually stunted the growth of those teams because we never sucked enough to get decent picks to put talent around Paul. So I'm hoping we avoid that mistake and take this mainly as a developmental year and ease our young guys in. I think its gonna be a great season and i will enjoy the ride but mainly i want to see the young guys develop.
Landry sign and trade still yet to happen. Will hopefully be for a swingman.
I'm gonna go with a prediction...we sign Roger Mason Jr.
Would love to sign Jodie Meeks, he's a young guy who can shoot the three. Would be a great addition and fit perfectly off the bench.
