Hubig's Pies facility a total loss due to intense, five-alarm blaze
http://www.wwltv.com/news/local/orle...163989366.htmlNEW ORLEANS - A five-alarm fire raged at the iconic Hubig's Pies facility Friday morning in the Faubourg Marigny, resulting in a total loss of the building, according to the New Orleans Fire Department.
The fire began around 4:28 a.m. at 2417 Dauphine St. Flames shot out of the back of the building, the area in which pie production occurs.
An employee noticed smoke coming out of the fryer room, where the fire is assumed to have started, according to the NOFD.

I haven't eaten a Hubig's pie in a very long time. I don't even think I knew there was a seasonal Strawberry one. The owner says they'll be back. I hope so.

Somebody on ebay has a Hubig's Apple pie with a minimum bid of $50.
What a shame. I heard on the radio this morning that there is a place in Slidell that can host them immediately and for a temporary time until they get a more permanent location.

Apparently we all need to go and buy all the Hubigs we can find, then sell them on Ebay.
Strawberry is good but blackberry was my favorite. I only managed to find some that one year though. Haven't seen them again since.

They barely have any in town, lol. Love the strawberries so me and my moms tried to stack up, but yea. You guys know NOLA.
