Figured this would happen. Does anyone know the exact amount we save?

    From Eric Pincus via Twitter:

I don't have the exact $ for Shard Lewis - believe it's about $13.7 mil which will be on Hornets cap

We save $10,090,000 if that numbers are right

Hornets, as expected, are waiving Rashard Lewis today to send Lewis to free agency. Buyout costs 'em nearly $14 mil but saves roughly $9 mil

    NOT RASHARD

$13.95M was the guaranteed amount, per his agent. We still save $8M in salary and cap space on his waiving. Quite a bit more when you consider what we would have had to pay Ariza and Okafor.

I'm gonna miss him, he served the team well. One of the biggest pieces to this rebuilding process so far.

Should of traded him for a bunch of first round picks and young studs. Now we're stuck with a bunch of cap space in a city that no one wants to live in.

Could have led us in scoring at like 28 per game.

He's done so much for the city of New Orleans that we wanted to let him play for a big market contender.
