Would you 3 way trade and help out both Houston and the Lakers? I wouldn't for spite but I could see this happening.
Lakers get 10th pick (not enough to get MKG though)
Hornets get Lowry and one of either 16th or 18th
Houston gets Gasol

Could make sense. If we're just looking player for player, the team with Gasol wins. But factoring in contract and age, could work out for LA.
Anyway, while I'm sure Houston "wants" Howard, this is probably the more likely thing ... they finally get Gasol after dealing for that No. 5 pick.
And if LAL can pull Lowry in a potential deal they can win big.
Of course they want some fool to give them MKG, while shedding Gasols contract, so they can sign another max free agent. Boom they are contenders again. I say no way a team does that for them but then again teams have done it for them before.
