you mean their rookie contracts?
@bustahyndes
Nice deal
New Orleans Pelicans-Seattle Seahawks-Atlanta Braves-Anaheim Ducks
PERFECTION
Baptize them in the water out of Scarface pool,
And feed 'em from the table that held Corleone's food,
If you die, tell them that you played my game
I hope your bullet holes become mouths that say my name.
3 years.
3 years worries me.... We've got 3 years to convince A.D. to stay with us? Make it happen Demps!
"You don't wanna be in Taco. You wanna be in Gap 2" - Monty installing defense
and then after, these guys will be restricted free agents..again, calm down ppl
"I'm perfectly calm dude". It just seems we have a running theme of players trying to leave here as soon as possible so i don't have the brightest outlook when it comes to us keeping guys. I hope that we can change that.
Well at least we got that going for us. Thanks for the info.
It's 3 years guaranteed. After the first 3 years, there are 2 "team option years," which equals a total of 5 years.
Some new stuff on rookie deals.

When National Basketball Association (NBA) Commissioner David Stern announces University of Kentucky’s Anthony Davis as the first overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft, Davis will become the first player selected by an NBA team to play in a full-length season since the new 10-year collective bargaining agreement was ratified by the NBA Board of Governors in December 2011.
Davis will enter a changed league that splits basketball-related income in half with its players, caps the maximum length of a player’s contract to five years, and may some day begin blood testing for human growth hormone (HGH). The new collective bargaining agreement also stipulates that Davis will not get an increase in salary compared to last year’s number one overall pick, Kyrie Irving or the prior year’s first pick, John Wall. The New Orleans Hornets will sign Davis to a two year contract that can be extended to a three or four year deal should the team wish to pick up their options in either year.
Looking at the other rookie contracts it looks like it will be 2 years guaranteed, 2 years of team option, then restricted free agency
I thought the 1st overall pick gets a 5th year.... Probably wrong, but that's what I was basing it off of.
Austin Rivers @AustinRivers25
Thanking God for this day, officially a Hornet! Let's get it New Orleans
nope...but teams can offer only one player a 5 yr extension instead of a 4 yr extension after a player's rookie contract is up...that is why love was so upset...he got a 4 yr deal cuz the wolves are saving their 5 yr guy for rubio...gordon wanted 5 yrs from us but was only going to get 4 cuz we are saving our 5 yr guy for davis
so davis will be one the team for 4 yrs after team options and then in all likelihood sign a 5 yr extension with us
CP4LAC has this all correct in my mind.
Also, this knocks off a little more than $1.2m of the cap room if they both got 120% scale deals.
