Vote John Henson over Perry Jones III

Yes, I'm shamelessly asking for your vote in defeating my opponent, who is repping Perry Jones III in the Hornets247 10th pick Tournament.

Long story short-- Jones is going to likely bust, and Henson is going to be a defensive beast as soon as he puts on the muscle.

    Plus I want to win...

In all seriousness, who would you prefer? I get that Jones has the edge in "potential" but in terms of expected production I really do tend to think that Henson is the better choice.

I agree with your assessment JG. Jones will likely be a bust because he won't be able to excel in anything on the floor. Henson will take time, but in 3-4 years he will be starting in this league and will be an elite defensive player.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

I'd rather Jones III, just because the potential is too much to pass up, especially at the 10th spot. I'd welcome Henson to the team though, no problems with that pick.

Definitely neither at the 10th spot. But Henson will be a better player long-term.

I'm fine with Jones at the 10th. He is IMO the 2nd most physically talented player in this draft. To me getting him at ten is worth the risk.

I also voted PJ. Henson will be a wasted pick on this team, good as me may be elsewhere. Redundant.

    Is Drummond first?

In my opinion yes Andre Drummond is phyiscally the most talented players in this draft. However we know pure physical talent doesn't always equal greatness.

Micheal Beasley is a better physical talent by far than Kevin Love.

Also voted PJ3. His potential is drool worthy. In my opinion, this upside makes him worth the risk at 10.

Vote Henson! I know I usually would say PJ3, but Davis and Henson in the paint would be like trying to get pass area 51 security!

I think it's PJ by a mile. I like Henson, but PJ IMO, has no downside. I know everyone is saying he's a boom or bust guy, but I just don't see it. I think he's a player who is so talented that he won't be a liability. He gets bored playing -- but he's not the type of 'bored' player who hurts a team. He's the type of 'bored' player who you want to scream at for not dominating the game. And I'm not so sure he wasn't bored in college because sometimes it was too easy for him.

PJ is a legitimate 6'10 without shoes and can run and jump and play basketball. Its possible I'm not remembering correctly, but when Baylor faced off with Kentucky, there was a stretch in the 2nd half where PJ consistently backed down Anthony Davis and scored. (I'm actually remembering it perfectly well because I'd bet the over on PJ3 to score 13.5 points and at that point in the game he had about 5 points).

I think at the end of the day, PJ will have an easier transition than many of these other guys because he plays above the rim, which is to say he's really athletic.

He's so "bored" that he can't shoot that well and has no instincts. Anyway, the answer is definitely NEITHER.
