I don't see Demps/Williams passing on him over anyone outside of Davis. If he's there when we pick, I'm going to guarantee he'll be the pick.

I think we'll go with TRob before MKG. TRob's work ethic is excellent and PF is a bigger need.

I will say though, I've felt from the start, how does Monty not fall in love with him?

I'm torn between him and T-rob for the first pick. I think it can be either or personally!

Wow! That just changed my whole perspective of MKG!
With hard work like that he could be a great player.
2013-1014 is the season the Pelicans fanbase grows!!!!

My brother knows MKG he said he doesn't want to come here. My brother scouts talent at the college level, so he knows a good bit of people. Not saying that couldn't change over time, or something. I really don't want MKG though.
looking for team to bandwagon, pls help

Yeah, he said he was like "I don't want to go there, they don't need my position anyway" or something like that.

Cool dude, you must have the best bro ever! But do you know any other insider, from the draft prospects?

  10. #10
I'm not buying it either. If MKG refuses to work out for the Hornets, then I'll buy it.

IDk, I kinda have my doubts. But then again I don't think he would just lie about a simple subject.

As a kid, lets be honest, who would want to come here?

Kids always have their minds set on one particular place, or a few. That's just how it is.

Now if we do select him, and he starts making friends on the roster, he takes a liking to our staff, all that changes.

I liked the video, but you could make that same exact video for every single player in the lottery right now. They all work hard, and they all want to be great.

MKG isn't a good scheme fit. Monty runs a slow-paced, half-court offense, and MKG is suited for a run-and-gun. More than that, he can't shoot off the ball, and he is really a defensive specialist who can slash a bit. We already have that in Aminu, and we have needs pretty much everywhere else besides SG.

I would rather see us pick up a later 1st round pick and draft Jeff Taylor from Vandy. Defensive specialist who can shoot well off the ball and doesn't turn the ball over. Very solid role player. Draft a PF, C, or a PG with our first 2 picks.

One reason its hard to believe is the teams picking high are cleveland charlotte and us. DC could be considered big time city with excitement but not really. Maybe he wants to play with john wall.

Either way if drafted monty and co would quickly have him comfortable.

That's my line of thinking too. Charlotte, Cleveland, and Washington isn't anymore attractive than the Hornets at this point.

Yeah I agree, remember Gordon was the same way. I just think we have a bad rep for whatever reason. Seems like we've Grown on Gordon and most players that come here.

I wasn't suggesting you were making up. Just didnt get why when all those cities and franchises seem comparable as far as history. But i agree with slim above i think we should pass on mkg. we have way bigger holes elsewhere.

I agree, I was one of his biggest backers, and MKG isn't the brightest light in the shed. I wasn't referring to you when I posted that lol.

Tell your brother that the next time he sees him, tell him karma's a *****. The one place you don't wanna go is the one place you'll find yourself ending up. Being short-sighted like that won't benefit him much.

Besides, would he rather play for Charlotte? Or Washington? At least we have the staff, players, and will to go somewhere.

He'll see the light if we winds up in our uni.

There is a big fall-off between Robinson and MKG... MKG is basically the consensus #2 in this draft everywhere you look, and we have a need at SF, just not as much at PF... so if MKG is on the board and Davis is gone, I can't see us passing up MKG. I can't remember that last player with as high of a motor as him, he outhustles everyone in this draft and alot of NBA players.

    My Big Board:
    Davis
    MKG
    Robinson
    Drummond

Wouldn't it be awesome if the hornets could grab MKG with their first pick and somehow trade up with Oak, Ariza, and/or Jack and the second pick to get T-Rob! That would be pretty awesome!

Do you think we go sf with the second pick( t Jones or Perry III) if we take robinson first?
some sites have t jones as a better sf in nba.

Even though I think that would be a bit of a traffic jam at 4, I think PJIII will work out as a 3 in the NBA so yeah I'd take him.

I also would be ok with Leonard (ILL) or Henson as a 5 at 10 if we go TRob. PG, Lillard then Marshall would be alright.
    Wherehappens.
