My personal opinion is to not have an amnesty. I like the idea, and it makes sense in the actual NBA and is balanced because the team still has to pay out the salary which is a negative for the owner but cap relief is worth it. In the sim since we don't have an owner nagging at us for giving out too big of a contract, amnesty would basically just be a waiving a player and getting instant cap relief for free. If we do Amnesty I volunteer to be everyone's owner and I will constantly PM them about how angry I am about having to still pay out a contract for a player playing for another team

It was mentioned before but I almost figured since it wasnt done last year it wouldn't get done. for one, you would only amnesty players you drafted in the sim league. The purpose of the amnesty was to account for not being able to see contracts at the time of the draft. I actually wouldn't use it, but I was wondering moreso in the global league sense.

Getting unwanted cotnracts off your cap that you drafted and did not know the salary would be the benefit.

I share the same opinion, but would like to hear other GM's opinion on why there should be an amnesty option. Maybe CP3 has a way to make it not just a free salary dump for team that amnesties a player.

I'd be for this only if it's in reference to contracts that you drafted in the INITIAL league draft. None of us knew how the contract was structured when we drafted and may have been stuck with a sub-par player with a blaoted contract. I agree with that. Although, I don't think we should have it for any other players that we traded for, drafted, or signed. Only for ones that YOU drafted first.

Interesting strategy. I would start "rebuilding" during the lebron draft class.
