For rookies in this draft?
It's something I've been considering.
I'd leave it up to the GM's though to let me know the player was a rookie in 2000.

I think it's sound because people aren't selecting these young guys for 2 years and possibly lose them.
Yeah it's something I was talking about, like I said if the GM knows you have a rookie on your team just let me know. If you draft one, let me know. I'm not going to go through every player and see what year they came into the league, so if I don't get a PM from the manager then the contract will stay the same.
And the protecting picks thing, I'll allow it for now. From what I was told it's something that can get real annoying to keep up with considering you can't do it in the game, you have to do it all manually. So feel free to do it, but if it gets out of hand and I get tired of keeping up with it then after a season I'll just say no more.
Other GM's need to be smart about the protecting picks thing though, that's important.
Protected picks should help shield "silly" trades and protect against injury related issues and since you won't allow true tanking(keeping your best players on the bench) integrity of it should actually be a little better than the real NBA. Like I said I'll keep track of it if need be to lighten the burden.
Sounds good pal.
Just for comparisons sake for everyone who feels like the draft is moving really slow (like I did), I did a comparison with the other big fantasy league draft on the HR Board:
35 days to get to round 8 in the Redraft fantasy league (24 teams I think)
16 days to get to round 7 in our 2000 Sim league draft (28/9 teams)
So just wanted to say this is actually moving along nicely. Good Job Everyone![]()
Yep, I have 16 lists in my inbox. Things are really moving along.
Index updated.
So no auto drafting right ?!? Lol
The poll you put up was asking when we wanted to start auto drafting .. This says the pace is picking up. I am asking if we will be able to select all of our players ie no auto drafting
Nah, whatever the poll says at this end of the round is the rounds that will be autoselected.
I did talk to wuggie though, the game allows you to "recommend" the best player at all five positions so if anyone wants they can send me a PM of the positions they want the most.
K, my official vote is 9-end! Like draft 75 percent of my team lol
I thought you posted a link on salaries but i can find it and I know your messing with them slightly but now the salary of the person I draft is important where can I go to see an idea of what each player makes or should I just pm you? Or does the salary cap not matter I see certain teams are already way past it.
yea I change my vote to auto from 8 on to auto from 9 on. The pace is decent and there are better players available than I thought there would be.
also if we are doing 4 years for the rookies, do we get at least 3 years for the 2nd year players?

HR SIM LEAGUE SEATTLE SUPERSONICS 2005-2006Eye ******* depth charts since year 2000
Pg: Chris Paul Sg: Ray Allen Sf: Adrian Griffin Pf: Dirk Nowitzki C: Soumaila Samake
2012 HR RE-DRAFT CHAMPION ORLANDO MAGIC!
Pg: Steve Nash Sg: Manu Ginobili Sf: Nicolas Batum Pf: Paul Millsap C: Tim Duncan
Just for creation draft purposes, salary cap comes into effect after.
we should have a voting system to approve certain trades. Like appoint 5 or so people to review/approve each deal.
Why? So people can get jealous if a guy make a move to be a better team than theirs, and veto the trade?
2013-1014 is the season the Pelicans fanbase grows!!!!
Yeah, that's what the cap is for. If people really think a trade is lopsided, the opposing GM just has to be smarter. The cap should really cut down on lopsided trades, that's something slim never wanted to believe, trades are a whole lot maker to be made when they have to work capwise.
yeah i want to chang my vote for round 8 to round 9 and beyond still moving pretty good so let it go till 9
