Thread: Poll: Who would you take at number 2?

  1. #76
Greg Monroe had 12ppg and 6reb his freshmen year, compared to Drummond's 10ppg 8reb it's a toss up. Like Monroe he could probably use another year and his freshmen season is disappointing, but it shouldn't scare you away. He is just raw, but from what i've seen of him he has a really good chance at improving his skills.

If people are conceding that MKG's ceiling is a better Iguodala, then I don't see why his upside is so much better than Barnes who have shown a lot more as a freshman. Whose to say MKG doesn't regress due to his weak jump shot at the next level?
Don't the two go hand in hand? If you're throwing up bricks but getting the shot off is that really creating your own shot?

Averaged 4 assists, but I think that's the rare times the ball slipped out of his hands and went straight to his teammates.

I like Lillard, but not completely sold on him.

    Passing ability?
    Perimeter defense?

He's like a Ramon Sessions/Jarrett Jack to me.

Not really too high about the idea of drafting a PG with the second pick, as I think JJ and Vasquez is above average rotation already, but should we pick a PG, Lillard is above and beyond the competition IMO.

I pray for Lillard to be our 2nd pick. The kids gonna be good.

He has IT, people. Draft him and let the rest of our PG situation sort itself out.

Sampling of his passing abilities. Could improve, but he's not selfish.

And to say he's a high volume scorer he's efficient. That's what makes him special.

I can see us taking Austin Rivers with our 2nd pick. Maybe use him as a 6th man combo guard then eventually make him the pg. I could see him being more efficient R. Westbrook type of guy at the point. Not the crazy athleticism and huge numbers but more efficient and more of a true pg than Westbrook . I think Rivers is going to go inside the Top 10, he has to much going for him to fall below that.

give me Lillard: Mo Williams/Stephen Curry or trade it away.
Top tier includes Davis, MKG, Beal, Robinson, Drummond, Lillard, Barnes, Sullinger, Lamb.
I'm not overly impressed with anybody else.

It's cool if you think that. Still would be cool taking our chances.

Besides, Maynor never had Lillard's quickness to let him get the shots he wanted. Also, Lillard has range for days. Maynor also wasn't as good a 3pt shooter in college.

Really? You're that high on him? If that's what he turns out as, I'm down with picking him at the Minny pick. Stephen Cury 2.0 would be a great fit next to Eric Gordon.

It doesn't when you're talking about UNFINISHED prospects. To have the ability at this stage of his career is good enough. You're asking for a flawless prospect if you're looking for him to already be that polished. There aren't any in this draft. Anthony Davis is the closest and he isn't anywhere near close to a perfect prospect.
