I could see New Orleans Bayou with a Gator mascot.

Meh, let's just do New Orleans Brass with a gold and green colors to upset the Seattle fans.

Emeka Okafor - Joe Smith - Carmelo Anthony - Manu Ginobili - Jason Williams

Al Jefferson - James Posey - Aaron McKie - Shaun Livingston

Gators would be the weakest name ever!!!

I hadn't thought of the golden state route. We could use Crescent City or Big Easy rather than New Olreans. Highly unlikely but creative for sure.

New Orleans Bayou Bengals. i'm sure they could create a wicked tiger pattern or something. not sure what the colors would be

    New Orleans Bounce sounds good.

I actually would prefer the "Crescent City." I think it sounds, and looks, good -- I especially like the alliteration of the Crescent City Krewe.

I think Krewe would be my first choice, with Brass, VooDoo, and Pelicans coming in behind it.

Plenty of teams use numbers like this 49ers, 76'ers, 66ers, 51's. Just throwing it out there.
English Turn actually got its name from a completely different event, over 100 years before the Battle of New Orleans. In 1699, before the founding of New Orleans, a 19 year old Bienville encountered a British warship in the Mississippi. He bluffed, and told the English that they were trespassing on French soil and that there was a well armed French garrison not too far away, when the nearest French colony was actually in Biloxi.

I can see the potential name change coming right after the draft or right before. They would use the new draft pick (hopefully a big deal like the #1 pick) to showcase the new jerseys. Kind of a two birds with one stone deal to release the new look to the whole country. Would be awesome to see the future of our team (Anthony Davis and _____) showcasing the future jersey of the team.

I like Crescent City Krewe. I also like Terror, Surge, and Arc Angels. Since Voodoo is taken, I was thinking maybe the Spells. Or how about the Cyclones/Typhoons?

Crescent City Krewe has a nice ring to it. Would have definitely been a cool ABA name back in the days.

That's exactly what I keep thinking. Having a press conference showing Eric Gordon and Anthony Davis modeling our new look? What a way to usher in the new era

Threw this together, just a quick color fill-in on an existing logo. It's cartoony and a quick job but you get the idea...

    Interesting idea Purple Haze

I still like New Orleans Brass the best. If we become the brass we can keep the Nola Trumpet Logo (make it our main logo) implement a secondary logo much like the music note basketball logo or the crescent logo that Bigdub created. I would like to see a navy and gold color scheme...maybe our 3rd/alternate color could be a mardi gras green similar to how notre dame uses their "Irish" green from time to time.

Bigdub if you could put this mock up together it would be much appreciated.

It's all speculation until the new owner says something, but I'm still uneasy. I'll be insulted and furious if the team is rebranded.
Old fan. Tired fan. I want to believe.

Crescent City Yats - nobody and I mean NOBODY outside of the New Orleans area would have a clue, that's why I like it. Plus, if the team moves in 12 years, they wouldn't dare take that name with them.

If you wanted to go the War of 1812 route... New Orleans Hickories

    Sounds catchy enough

Nah, then we will be called Hicks. Screw Dat!

100% straight-faced. The colors, the logo, the pre-New Orleans history means a lot to me. I don't mind a minor tweak, but a complete rebrand, to me, would be as painful as relocation.
