it happens quite a bit around this city, but sorry, being sick is not totally unique to New Orleans...

Again not being from N.O. I cant say if this name makes sense, but what about the New Orleans Wardens. I was just thinking of how the city is divided in 17 wards. I doesnt really have a ring to it though.

He'd have to say "Down for the Krewe" instead of "To be a Krewe."

You can say "I can't wait to be a Reaper" though.

The more I think about this, arent some of these names (mine included) we are coming up with a little too menacing for the NBA? I mean, think of all the team names in the league right now: Spurs, Suns, Nets, Knicks, Kings and so forth. All pretty tame. And the teams with somewhat "hardcore" names arent striking fear in anyone with their logos or colors. You got to think of this from a marketing standpoint 1rst and the local flavor second. You want the team to have fans not only in New Orleans but everywhere.

Yup. I'm sold. No more arguing for any other name. I got it bad, so bad...hot for Reaper.

Then we'll ring the bell and go "Tonight. You!"

Cuz after all, what does our name get when you take out the 1st E?

The "colors" of New Orleans are blue, gold, and white. Too me, that seems like it could be a nice color scheme. I put this together real quick:

The three different blues are from that blue dog we see all over the city, and the gold is the Saints gold.

If the Bobcats became the Charlotte Hornets I would have a hard time not rooting for them, but I don't see that happening. I'm thinking I'll remain loyal to the team formerly known as the Hornets. I'm hoping David Stern pulls a "Lakers trade" and prohibits the name change. He didn't seem excited about the idea when Tom Benson first brought it up. I want the Hornets to be New Orleans' team, but not under "their" conditions; it really puts out the international fans. I just feel like the Hornets will always be second fiddle to the Saints in New Orleans. If the name Hornets isn't good enough than we might as well just call them the Saints 2. Also, sorry your Bobcats suck so much - tough break.
Well the Bobcats are a bit better than their record. Injuries, plus what seems like total ignorance on the part of Paul Silas as well players seemingly quitting for much of the season is why the Bobcats will end the season as the worst NBA team of all time. Also much of the key players from the playoff run a few years back have been traded for lesser parts. A rebuild was necessary for the team. Overpriced players left the team devoid of cap room and the team could not really improve and were only good enough for maybe two more playoff appearances that led nowhere. Rather than go through that only to rebuild, the team started rebuilding sooner rather than later. With Rich Cho being GM we hope the team can improve quickly. Hopefully we get the first pick but if not the draft appears to be fairly deep so a player of star caliber could be drafted. No matter what I can guarantee you the team will finish with at least 25 to 30 wins next seasaon. That is if they fire Paul Silas and get a better fit at head coach.

I have said from the beginning that should be the color scheme if we take Brass as the name. It fits, looks sharp, and will differentiate Brass from Jazz which had mardi gras colors.
