Being associated with the AFL, while I have no problem with the Voodoo, that name suddenly feels amateurish.

You rebrand the entire name. If you want the name to work, you do what the Golden State Warriors did.
You rename the entire team. New Orleans should not be put into the name.

Logo could be a Fleur-de-lis, or I prefer the River Paddle Boat given the history of New Orleans being a port city and given the heritage of the city.

The New Olreans Hoodu? The Ghouls? The Outlaws? The Sabres(sword) lol The New Olreans Witchdoctors? The New Orleans Knights(Nights) can be tied into the entire French/royalty connection and be pulled off if done right. We need something that atleast sounds tough.

Knights - although not synonymous with NOLA is pretty good.

What about Musketeers? Silver and blue, fleur de lis.

I'd really prefer something to do with our history - Battle of New Orleans, Buccaneers, Pirates, Jolly Rogers. I'm not keen on Voodoo, sounds like a women's team.

Brass - I could live with it.

How about New Orleans Beer. Go Beer! Beer me!! We would be everyones favorite team. Goddell will probably call Stern and tell him that's a bad idea.

I've been hesitant to throw out names because I've always tried to come up with stuff that would be less obvious or common. Think I'll sit down tonight and see what I can come up with; although, one name that has always floated around in my head was "Grenadiers." Of course that one is a bit more attenuated since they were elite french cavalry/infantry units and nothing necessarily to do with New Orleans itself.

Non-NO fans are going to be able to identify something like VooDoo, Brass, Arcangels before they would Krewe. I had to look up that last one. I thought it was a hip-hop way of spelling "crew" as in your group of friends.

BUT. Utah goes back to this





and the New Orleans Jazz style unis come back home (with some slight tweaks). Win win.
