Update-- The show will now be two hours long. 12-2 CT.
-
I decided early last summer that the Hornets needed a show about them. Right now, the only shows in New Orleans that talk about the Hornets exclusively are affiliated in some way with the Hornets brand, either because they are broadcast on the Hornets TV station or because they are broadcast on the Hornets Radio station.
That's not going to be the case for much longer.
Starting the 7th of January at 1pm CT, I'll be hosting a two hour long, weekly radio show. I'll grab a range a guests, from writers for our upcoming opposition, to local celebs who want to chat about the Hornets a bit, and of course some players and Hornets staff. We'll take calls for a portion of each, so that if any of you have questions or have something insightful to say, you can. In fact, I really would appreciate it.
It will stream over the internet as well, so no worries if you're not local. That was something I wanted to make sure of. A recording will be made as well, so it will available every week for a listen even if you can't hear it live.
I've never really done radio before except as a guest on shows. Hope you'll bear with me if the first episode or two is a bit rough. Might also just be a seamless transition from guest to host. Only one way to find out.
Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know. Hope you're at least 1/100th as excited as I am.
Also, if you have or work for a business that may be interested in sponsoring the show, PM me and I'll owe you a beer forever.

Sweet stuff. I'll definitely be looking forward to hearing it!
If I ever get a Saturday off, I'll be sure to call in.
Ever thought about setting up an email so you can take questions that way also?

Thanks! Really glad to be able to do this kind of stuff. It's wild to me that more of it doesn't exist.
Plans are to have a rant or two, a few bloggers from other teams talk about our upcoming schedule, a guest that's either an interesting person or affiliated with the Hornets, 5 minutes on the rest of the NBA's big stories, maybe a little Hornets comedy from Chris Trew, and call ins throughout the various segments. Will have some giveaways for sure.
Will certainly take questions via email, twitter, the forum, h247, and of course the phone.
Lots of work to do obviously. All the fun kind, fortunately.
Could take this as a chance to really incorporate Facebook too, if you can swing it.
Ahh cool. Well I'm looking forward to be able to post questions on here and hear them discussed on the radio![]()
awesome job, cant wait to hear the show
If Wayne is E.T.-ish tell him phone home
Wow man, Congrats! This is going to be great.
@DatPurpleHornet
Missed it, will it get loaded on the site?
Good show.
Glad I didn't have to call in! Good turnout.
Definitely can't have 3 guests in the future, plus I need more time for callers. Sorry to those of you who were left on the line or got busy signals. Way too many callers and just not enough time for them.
If anyone knows who Pam is, I want to give her those tickets. My producer wasn't quite sure how to get her on the line with me when it wasn't on the air, and that could have been an awkward minute or two trying to get info if we had to do it live.
Criticism is requested. What didn't you like?
