    Matt Barnes Opts Out

Forward Matt Barnes says he will opt out of the final year of his contract with the Orlando Magic to become a free agent.

Barnes hopes he impressed the Magic enough for them "to bring me back and give me something decent."

I know his first choice is the Magic, but can we give him something decent too?

Matt Barnes is the type of player the horents should have, though now he will probably be overpaid

too bad we didnt get him instead of posey...sometimes it turns out better that your first choice turns you down

I would take him in a heart beat. He is always "that other guy" He will never be a star in this league but he does everything you want plays good def/shoots the 3/ goes to the rim just he will never be a star. He we could get him for a MLE I would be happy.
If you Jimmer it, they will come.

Its a shame we already have Posey.

Barnes is decent but not really a guy who makes much of an impact. We already have two many mediocre players, we need some guys who actually make a positive impact on the game and arent just there taking up space.

Why? We have a guy who can shoot and is more athletic in MT.

You can if you don't have enough guys that can cut to the rim.

i'm not saying give the guy the full mid-level, i'm just saying at the right price he is a great shooter and a very smart player, even his defense has gotten decent enough. he only made 2.8M this year, at that price he is a bargain. when Peja is gone, who stretches defenses for us? got to have more than one 3 point threat on the roster. he isn't everything we need, but he's useful. i don't think we go after him, or we get him, but as guys on that roster that I'd like, i like him
