Hornets Open Season At Home vs Jazz

    http://www.nba.com/hornets/
    Schedule just released.

    http://www.nba.com/hornets/schedule/

    This is SAAWWWWWEEEEEETTTTTT!!!!!
Last NBA home game was the Jazz, and now the first game back in the NBA has the Jazz coming in as the enemy! I love this. How far in advance will this game be sold out for? Guys, this will be one seriously HOT ticket.

Isn't it? They had to have done that one on purpose. There's also a link on the front page leading to the schedule.

I'm ok with the schedule. We don't get alot of good Saturday games against the quality teams, but we can still pack the arena when they come on Wednesday's. I like that Friday game against Houston and also the Thursday nationally televised against Dallas. Those will be great games to see.

It would be a great time to have that New Orleans Jazz tribute we've talked about here with all the old Jazz players at the first game.

I wonder if the Hornets would think that may steal some of their thunder on opening night. Nahhhh! Why would they schedule it then.

    First Game Promotion:
Free Stogies, Beer, and Harvey Bobbles for the first 3,000 coullions. :9195:

Now I really can't wait. I hope we pound the Jazz into oblivion. (Not that I have any animosity left against that particular team )

This is great, our new team plays our old team. Someone was thinking.

It was a really tough decision, but I decided to go for one of my childhood heroes. Also, I figured you would save some of the HH bobbles for all the members of the "clique" here.

Absolutely awesome. This is the best way for us to come back into the league. Hornets-Jazz...after a 23 year "offseason" New Orleans is back...and our first victim is that stinkin' team that jilted us so long ago!

    Bring on the Stinkin' Jazz!
A football game can't stop hurricanes.

    It can't fix levees.

    Or rebuild houses.

But it can let a city know...

That it's a city once again.

    Welcome back, New Orleans.

I'm sure the Hornets will have something special planned for this opening night. Making sure the Jazz leave without their jerseys might not be a bad idea!

You know, although I think it is awesome to open up against Utah, you would think they would have wanted to "save" that game for later in the season. I think the Utah game would have sold out at any time. Opening night (no matter who they played) would sell out also. They probably should have scheduled someone like Golden State or Atlanta.

How loud will that arena be when the P.A. announcer introduces the "Utah" Jazz? I'm going to boo until I'm blue in the face!

Then we bring the friggin house down with the intros to "YOUR NEW ORLEANS HORNETS!!!"

  17. #17
I think the Jazz is perfect as a first game. We just need to make sure we win is all.

Wow, this actually has me hyped up, just because I know it's gonna be such an electric atmosphere. If Baron's still on the team by opening night, he'll wanna stay after this.

My voice will barely be back from the Saints/Atlanta game on Sunday, and then I get to go to the arena on Wednesday and ruin it again. We're probably going to need reconstructive larynx surgery by the end of this year.

    Agreed!

Holy [email protected] I hyped up now.

It's real...it's tangible. We're back in the friggin NBA!

I can't wait three months. I need a fix now!

    Hornets-Jazz on October 30, 2002.

I'm thinking we need a countdown-to-tipoff clock somewhere around here.

I said the same thing in a post a while back. We will already be hyped on opening night. I say let's build on it for the first couple of home games. Then give us the Jazz.

Oh well, who cares now? It Hornets B-Ball time!!!
