Tech How fast is your internet connection?

You can test your speed by clicking on this link:

    http://promos.mcafee.com/speedometer/test_0600.asp

I had gotten an email from Comcast tonight saying that they had doubled my connection speed for "free." When I had AT&T Broadband, I always had good speed. When Comcast took them over, I could swear that the speed dropped. I don't like Comcast. But, after getting the email, I did a before and after test. Before getting the quicker speed, I blew 1.3Mbs. After getting the quicker speed, I blew over 2Mbs. So this is good news. If you have a cable modem, you should be getting at least 800kbs on a regular basis, hopefully more.

Well, I guess Comcast has finally done something good for me...

    2.753 Mbps this a.m.

This is good because I set up that iTunes thing and downloaded an album last night (14 songs) in just over 2 minutes. Very good. I see people are finally getting smart with the net. Give me the proper tools and I might pay for it and the ability to get stuff with it. Beats going to the mall.

I must be doing something wrong, I can't even get the results page to display, just the top banners and navigation bar on the left surrounding a white screen. I know it has to do with my security settings, but I don't feel like adjusting them.

O.K. I average about 2.6Mbps (only 256Kbps upload - Cox has serious restrictions on uploads) on these tests http://www.dslreports.com/stest

    about 1.9 at CNet http://webservices.cnet.com/bandwidth/

I had on another test 3160Kbits/sec download and 253Kbits/second upload. I have Cox for my internet, as well.

My tested at 500kbps on a cable modem. After shutting down some programs running in the background it tested at 1.379mbps. I guess thats good.

Anything over 500kbps is considered good. In fact, going from 1.37mbps to 2.7mbps is not all that noticeable anyway.

I have cox also and believe me that upload is an issue. My d/l speed is pretty fast though, can get about 300 k on certain servers.

My Internet speed test results are,
    Download Speed: 18.89 Mbps
    Upload Speed:0.795 Mbps.
I check my internet speed from ScanMySpeed.com
What you think about this speed?
    Is this good or bad?
