Why? Don't see a fit for him unless they trade Granger or George. I thought he hated his 6th man role with the Grizz?
Bayless is an UFA

Seems like the Suns aren't interested in a sign-and-tradeQuote:

If NO matches offer sheet for Gordon which they apparently will then Suns will turn attention to keeping Shannon Brown.
Just reporting what I read... and this makes sense...

Mayo is the top choice for the Pacers. He’s been their top choice for a few years now. The Pacers have “great, great interest” in Mayo, one person told me….
The Pacers have to decide how much they want to pay the former lottery pick and does Mayo mind continuing to come off the bench.

The Suns don't lose anything by signing Gordon to an offer sheet. It's a no-lose situation for them. If the Hornets don't match they get a player they want, if the Hornets match they move on and sign someone else.
More on the Suns:

Chris Tomasson
Phoenix and Chicago are the 2 teams most heavily in the mix for free-agent shooting guard Michael Redd. Suns, who had Redd last season, are waiting to see if Eric Gordon offer sheet gets matched by New Orleans. Bulls are waiting to see what they might due with the July 10 deadlines to guarantee contracts of Kyle Korver, Ronnie Brewer and C.J. Watson
Some Phoenix radio host said his "source" has told him the Suns aren't interested in a trade for Gordon.
Phoenix radio host saying if the Hornets match Gordon, they'll turn their attention to Shannon Brown. Shannon Brown was on their roster last season too right?

I guess Phoenix doesn't consider him that much of a "cornerstone" after all.
Shouldn't he be butthurt at Phoenix now?
Well we can all cross Phoenix off the list for a sign and trade. So do we match the max deal and make him play in N.O. against his will? man I hope this dude doesn't shut it down if we do bring him back.
Gordon is probably the one who is butthurt unfortunately. Hurt that he had to visit half a dozen teams to get the max that New Orleans wasn't willing to offer him outright (and the 7.5% annual raise that New Orleans could offer him, unlike the 4.5% he'll be getting from the Suns' offer... being paid by the Hornets after it's matched).
It does seem like he's lashing out at the Hornets for his value perhaps being less than perceived.
This should show him " how much he means to Phoenix! " If they thought he was so great, whatever would've been flying from their team to New Orleans!
What's the latest on OJ Mayo?
Phoenix did the same orange carpet treatment to Goran Dragic too. It's their oversell tactic. It's aight, but if we wanted to throw a welcome party, no one could do that like we can.
They know the Hornets will match. They also know that since nothing has to be signed immediately it opens the window for negotiations. This was all calculated to provoke a S&T. Gordon's comments are similarly calculated to that effect. One comment you could let slide but this guy has been saying the same thing non stop for the past three days. Also, just because the media isn't reporting the teams are negotiating a S&T doesn't mean it's not happening. They might be looking to involve another team, etc.
TC's trade is where the Mavs got the trade exception to trade for Odom, hence giving the a trade exception to the Lakers, which they used on Nash, hence giving one to the Suns. It's a never ending process. They expire exactly one year after the trade takes place though.
Ersan Ilyasova to return to the Bucks for 5 years and 45 million. I know he was kind of a board favorite, but I am very glad we didn't sign him to that type of deal.
You're starting to see why we haven't been so active lately. All the early signings have been considerable.
I know Kaman is polerizing, but all I would like to see is Kaman and Landry brought back. Give me
Jack, Gordon, Aminu, Davis, Kaman
Vasquez, Rivers, Henry, Landry, Smith
Miller, Ayon
I'll take my chances with that team for a year. And as long as Kaman isn't in the $10 million range, you can always trade a 7 footer down the road.
But somehow it seems we burned that bridge.
Total side note/ interesting fact. If we had that roster, and traded Jack at the deadline to hand the job to Rivers, we would have Rivers, Gordon, Aminu and Kaman starting. Four starters from the Chris Paul trade. The only way Jack would be traded is if we're completely out of playoff contention, and I certainly hope that's not the case. But cool regardless.
I'm torn on that myself. Carl's loyalty is a factor for me, and he's also four years younger. Add in Brand's injury history, and his age is a major concern even for one season.
But if we can get either of them on a one year deal, I am ready to pull the trigger on the first one to accept.
Well, Jack will start the season as starter. The rest will depend on how fast Rivers progresses. I don't think it really matters, I think you will see all four guards play plenty in all different combinations. Possibly with three on the court at a time depending on matchups.
Steve Novak re signing with the Knicks.
Ken Berger:
After flurry out of the free-agent gate, agents beginning to see things dry up for second-tier players. "It's ground to a halt," said one.
Players expecting full mid-level deals are now getting 1- and 2-year offers, agents say. "The money is drying up," said one.
So those wondering why Kris Humphries would accept a one-year guarantee as part of sign-and-trade to Cavs? Maybe that's all there is.
Zach Lowe:
NYK after today's deals, plus assuming Lin match, will have about $82M committed to 7 players--in 2015.
Financial relief comes in 2016, when books are clean and NYK can avoid the repeater tax penalties by being under tax that season.
Just agree to a decent deal with a big man and I think we'll be set for the regular season. Kaman is not out of the question, but I don't see him on this team next season. I wouldn't doubt if the Hornets have talked to McGee, but Nuggets will overpay for him and we don't need to reach on a big.
DeJuan Blair doesnt expect to be in the spurs plans for the future..... would you guys want him?
