I just seeing this old thread and wondering and comparing this beautiful memories with the present of the franchise, the last year record season, the lost against the spurs in game 7, etc...
Do you guys think how will be remembered this last two season in the history?

2007-08 will be known as the year the Hornets were a shot or two from making the WCFS, the year that saved bball in New Orleans, and the emergence of CP3 as a superstar.
08-09- will be judged on what happns in the playoffs.

It is still fun to think about the old Charlotte Hornets, NIH. They did put up some high quality teams and for a expansion team, they broke the mold in many respects. You could make an argument that MJ and the Bulls hurt some of their chances in the mid 90's when the Hornets had some really good teams. I certainly remember seeing them play The Bulls in the 2nd round with some of the best talent the old Charlotte teams ever had, and the Bulls always got in the way somehow. But that happened to a lot of great NBA teams back then, the Bulls owned everybody in those days. George Karl had some great teams in Seattle for almost all of the 90's, and when he came up against MJ, he got his lunch handed to him, and the Sonics back then were a great team. They could have won a few NBA title rings if one or two things fall their way back then.
It seems like the only team that did anything back then instead of Chicago were the Houston Rockets of 94 and 95 IIRC. Houston, IMO was the only team back then in MJ's heyday that could have given him, Scottie Pippen, Rodman, Armstrong a run for their money or perhaps even beaten them in an NBA Finals series.
The old Hornets were certainly not the only ones wondering how good they would had been if Jordan had not stopped them on more then one occasion. Maybe it's flawed logic to say all this, but the Bulls, in retrospect were perhaps that good

how can you all not put elden cambell at the top of the list? that guy was a beast, he was unstoppable, his focus, his determination, he was second to none. he just kept going, and going, when others stopped, he kept going back. we are talking about at a buffet line right?
