I agree. Very unfortunate situation at the time. I hope this new treatment could help him and others with the same type of problem.

Do NBA teams get an opportunity to add extra players at some point before the playoffs (i.e., do rosters expand)??

If so, it would seem like Roy never really intended to "retire" and was merely sitting out most of the season without taking up a spot on the Blazers bench.. once they can fit more players, he will suddenly be ready to make a triumphant return.

Just going for something different.

I think he can be a reliable sixth man for any team in the league. I wouldn't want to risk an injury with letting him start.
