What do you think it will take to get him.
I posted this in another thread, 3-way trade, gives us both Cousins and Bledsoe. Sacramento also gets our 1st round pick, top-7 protected.

Firstly, they are desperate to get rid of Cousins. I think this was the last straw, and Smart was the only guy in that franchise that defended Cousins, and even he said he has some decisions to make.
Also, they get a lot of quality depth/locker room guys in this trade, plus a 1st round pick. Butler starts at SF, Jason Smith starts at PF, and Vasquez is either a starter or a 6th man for them. Turiaf gives them cheap depth at Center and helps them get through this season.
Cousins' value is at an all-time low, so they won't get what he's worth. This is a good offer, IMO.
They wouldn't. He's probably going to say that they have no choice and should take whatever they can, which is true to an extent. But they arnt that desperate and he's under contract so they will get better offers than that.
Also, nothing wrong with creating a separate thread for this. This is involves actual news. I mean it's not like we have a massive flood of the same topics going on. Just different threads for acquiring different players.
Anywho. Has there EVER been a trade suggestion that everyone went 'What a brilliant move. I never even thought of it. I hope we do this!'?
You really think other teams are going to give up top dollar for Cousins? There is no chance. I think Smith and Vasquez are long-term glue guys for them, Butler starts and is a nice expiring next year as a trade asset, and they get a 1st round pick from a horrible team. That is good value, considering their situation.
Bledsoe & Cousins together seems too much of a win for us... but I think Cousins is very available right now. That team needs defense, not offense, so something built around Lopez, Aminu (theyre lacking at the 3) and maybe Vazquez to a third team because they don't need any more PGs.

Why do we do this?
We get two promising players to put together an amazing core of Bledsoe, Gordon, Davis, Anderson & Cousins. We get some much added low post toughness and an athletic guard
Why do the Kings do this?
They have a log jam at the guard and Cousins is hurting the team and is suspended. Give them a defensive presence at the 5, something they desperately need. They also get to dump Garcia's awful contract. Get a first round pick that will most likely be top 10 and Odom's expiring contract gives them lots of cap room.
Why do the Clippers do this?
Willie Green is not a great starting SG and Tyreke is a natural 2. Big upgrade and since Bledsoe doesn't play too much with CP3 on the team, GV is a veteran backup for a contender. Jason Smith is the most underrated part of all this, some much needed Frontcourt depth for a foul-prone duo of Jordan & Griffin
no the guy is too much of a headcase
It's pretty hard to get suspended in the Kings organization. I'd be very weary of the kid. I want him nowhere near Davis. He's one of those guys you'll love to have at 26-27 when he matures but hate to have to develop him at 22.
I don't see LAC giving up Odom. He is their only depth, and they like him for some reason.
There's a big reason why. They are all playing insignificant roles on their respective teams. Cousins isn't a guy any team can bring him in and he'll accept 20-25 minutes off the bench. Neither McGee nor Young were head cases. They were low IQ players. Blatche is the only one that comes to mind and he's playing with 4 Allstars vets.
That isn't to say those three still aren't doing some of the same things they became notorious for, but the structure is so strong where they are now, that it isn't disruptive.
Saw this one coming. Had some possible trade ideas in this piece a few weeks ago:

The odds of the latest incident inspiring the Kings to consider trading Cousins are slim to none, as he is considered the centerpiece of their prolonged rebuilding effort.
Quote:
Cousins is expected to work with agent Dan Fegan now, a move that could spell trouble for the Kings going forward.
Fegan is one of the most powerful agents in the NBA, and his most recent high-profile situation is the very sort of scenario the Kings – and every other team, for that matter – would like to avoid. Fegan was instrumental in Dwight Howard's exodus from Orlando to the Lakers last summer, having presented the Magic with a list of teams (Brooklyn, Dallas, and the Lakers) to which Howard was willing to re-sign if traded. Fegan's last extensive dealings with the Kings were in 2009, and they were far from positive for either side.
hiring the agent that got Dwight out of Orlando sure doesn't sound like his futures in Sactown. from the same article
That to me says he out of there. Too many incidents.
Yes I want Demarcus cousins dude is a freak him and ad would compliment each other perfectly
You guys really want cousins here? He was suspended for fighting with his coach, saying his sick of losing..
How do you think he would fit here, although we would win a lot more with him on the team.
I'd want him on a veteran team with dominant personalities who could keep him in line with a strong established culture. I don't see how if you put him on a young team without strong personalities, he wouldn't create the same dysfunctional mess he's left in Sacramento because it's all he knows and there's no established star to keep him from doing that. I also think he'd clash with Monty and be a headache ad infinitum.
Cousins and AD would be crazy but I think we need help at the 3 right now
I wanted cousins before the season started...but dude is a stable player. He doesn't need to become a locker room cancer or a bad example for some of the other players.
Do not want Cousins. He's insane, a headcase.
Reinstated after a single game...:hihi:
How dare you go at our coach! You get a timeout!
