Well if David Aldridge reported it, it must be true. :11111: :nocchio:
are you being sarcastic or something?
first of all, i have a lot of respect for DA, b/c he is normally right about stuff he reports, and he knows what he is talking about.
and i doubt ESPN would air that if it was just rumor. watch sportscenter at 6, and when they go to the update desk at 6:30, lets see what they say.
Great, all this means is that he's signing.
huh? why does that mean he will sign?
Yes, you obviously are a newbie to the goings on with the Hornets and New Orleans. You may want to search the archives for Aldridge threads.Quote:

Aldridge right? About what, b/c it isn't basketball:
when he said Jordan wouldn't return (twice, after both retirements) . . .
that Ewing would retire a Knick, a month before he was traded . . .
that Hornets wouldn't move (enough said, this is was certain of) . . .
how about last summer when he was dead set on the Kobe/Carter trade (what a fool) . . .
oh yeah, he was right when he said that the Grizz would move to St Louis and not MEM (boy he sure knows his relocation) . . .
or that Duncan would force a trade to ORL (even after SA kept him, he still said it would happen and that SA did it to build the arena and then they would trade him) . . .
and when he Webber would end up in NY, (that was on the spot) . . .
but the topper is when he questioned what NO would do if they got the Hornets and then got hit by a hurricane. Very classy move on his part, a real pro. Give me Peter Vecey over this loser anyday. Aldridge is a joke, and worse hurts the sport.
Is that sarcastic enough?
he is most like simply going on what people tell him. so you people are honestly telling me, that to get a rise, DA is going to call up the espn offices in bristol and say, baron davis just told me that he is most likely not going to accept the offer?
i didnt say DA was saying that. he was reporting what BARON TOLD HIM.
You are still new to the New Orleans forum ? Are you not? That is what I was saying. Aldridge has a several month old history here you do not know. So cool down dude.
and by the way, nyknicksfan, i'm sure you hae been wrong about a thing or two in your life.
I just came from espn.com and Baron didn't say that a source close to Baron told David that Baron was doubting if he want to stay six years. He didn't say he was not going to sign.
Yeah, but what proof do you have?:DQuote:

If this is true, it's no surprise to me. When you guys gonna start trusting Harvey? My record is a hell of alot better than @$$clown DA.
Like everyone else says, if Aldridge says it, it must be true. Now let him tell me another fairy tale about how the Hornets won't move, the relocation fee is $100M or $250M.
I wouldn't believe anything D.A. says.
dude, i'm cooled down. sorry, it just seemed like you were saying that i was new to the hornets, and i didnt know what i was talking about. its straight.
30 years as a fan give or take a year. OK, Mr. Gohornetz.
are you people mad? what is the matter with you people??????? baron told that to DA. i doubt DA just made it up. come on, you people are acting crazy.
30 years as a fan of the hornets? what? i guess i'm confused.
Calm down, gohornetz.Quote:

He meant new to the message board. We have a lot of history with DA. No one is questioning your knowledge of the team.
It went over your head dude. Forget it.
30 years huh? If that is true, you have everyone else on earth beat by about 16!:DQuote:

well, to the dude who said he just read it on ESPNews, i just saw it on espn, the update desk at 5:15, with that chinese guy, and he said" Hornets point guard Baron Davis told our David Aldridge that he will most likely not accept the teams contract extension. davis averaged blah blah blah--- and he said some more crap aobut stats.
As an NBA fan, but I know you knew that. :DQuote:

And I don't think he said that. If I can remember the radio spot, did't he say tornado? I could be wrong. Bottom line is when it comes to DA, from a New Orleans standpoint, he has no credibility.Quote:

It's his job, he needs to meet dealines. His sources must be real crappy, b/c all those thigs I posted were major stories he reported during his stay at ESPN. Sure, informants are told things and sometimes they don't happen. But see, you should use common sense when you are a reporter and know that not everything you are told is set in stone. He reports everything like it is fact, when most of it is rumor.
Vecsey gets dragged through the coals for writting a NBA gossip column (yet he get held to a higher standard than a real fact based reporter) for the NYPost, David's job is to be a NBA reporter giving us the facts . . . he truely felt Jordan wasn't comming back (he did atleast 4 stories on it, and he actually bashed other reporters who said Jordan would come back). The Hornets mess was the last straw, several times during the year he had to keep back tracking . . . correcting his rumor based news almost daily when facts came out.
But, for me when he questioned NO ability to support the Hornets and survive a natural disaster . . . he showed his ignorance. What's worse, this was not that long after 9/11 and NY was rebuilding . . . after the attacks, WAS he suggesting that if NY teams kept playing they were taking money away from the relief effort? Or if SF suffered an earthquake similar to 1906 they should let their teams move away? No, oh I see he just feels NO shouldn't be allowed disaster relief money, b/c it is wrong tp want to have an NBA team . . . right?
This man is a journalist, and very lucky to be one at that (but it doesn't make him right).
alright, my bust CC Hornet. look, i'm not trying to start trouble or anything, i just dont understand how you can doubt a report that baron said he most likely wasnt going to. i can understand if DA was on espn and said "i dont expect baron to sign back.' but as i said, the chinese guy reported that baron told that to DA.
We'll see on the 17th if that is true.
No big gohornetz. No slight intended.Quote:

Why doubt him? Because he and his network have been wrong on numerous occasions within the past few months. But, he is always ready to jump on the bandwagon and take credit for none which is his. That's all. Oh and his name is mud here among all aware of his verbal abuse of New Orleans.
If you said it came from anywhere else I would probably believe it. But, David has a bad history of reporting rumor as fact. Sure, Baron told David . . . Davis isn't telling anybody on the planet what his real plans are except for Mr Aldridge; I hope the Hornets management hear that report, b/c it would be a shock to them.
It might happen, but David did report those other things and they didn't come true.
I thought it was a hurricane, but if he said tornato it further shows his ignorance.
well if he said some crap about NOLA then i understand why you guys dont like him, but i am a carolina boy so i have nothing against him.
and i just read on the hornets page on espn.com that a SOURCE CLOSE TO BARON told DA that he probably wasnt going to sign. so now we are getting conflicting reports. did barons boys in LA say that b/c they want baron to come, or did baron really say it??? hmmmmm............?
yea, but hasnt DA also reported some stuff before that has been true? and dont tell me no, b/c we all know he still wouldnt work for ESPN if everything he reported was false, especially as much as he is involved with the network. well, sportscenter starts in 4 min., so i will see if they say anything.
That's good to hear. Then you know why we have nothing against the owners here.Quote:

I have nothing against you gohornetz, but it isn't just NO . . . he pulls this crap all the time. He reported that Kobe/Carter trade last summer like it already happened . . . I remember the ESPN graphic showing the two players side by side except with Carter on the LAkers side of the screen . . . Right now news is slow, they will put anything up on that page. It is one of the problems of internet journalism, you report feelings and rumor as fact, then when it doesn't happen you just take it down.
hell, i expect that you guys love the owners. i mean, when shinn got us the hornets in 88 we loved him here. well i didnt, i dont even think i could read, none the less love a billionaire bball owner. but everyone here loved him. he was more popular in north carolina than, dare i say, richard petty? haha, god i hate nascar.
but by the time the mid 90s rolled around, we all started to dislike him. i want to say i hope he does some crap to you guys so you will realize what kind of garbage he is, but i love this team to much to hope for anything bad like that.
go hornets!
We don't want to get into the owners conversation. Sorry. I was just making a point.
I haven't talked to DA!!! I swear.:DQuote:

by the way, there was a fight in the wnba today. haha. i'm serious, watch sportscenter.
speaking of the wnba, your city stole our NBA team, but you'll never get the sting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really, a fight? What was it like . . . cat fight or bar brawl?
Maybe if they made the WNBA more like Foxxxy Boxing, I could watch it.
Yeah...Quote:

He said tornado. I just listened to it again. I'll never forgoet those infamous four minutes from the $0.03 man.
You're right about that. But if you don't get that expansion team anytime soon, the league may move them also.Quote:

i'd say about 5,000 to 1. yea, so i'm feeling good about the season.
Hey gohornetz, actually the're 80-1. The only team worse are the Texans at 85-1. :D p.s. i don't know if I welcomed you, but welcome. You seem to be a TRUE Hornet's fan. I see the "clique" also welcomed you. But you gotta know the history with DA over here to understand. I'm sure most of them didn't realize you were new. Again, we;lcome. It'll be nice to hear some fresh takes on the situation.Quote:

Maybe, just maybe, it'll end for a couple weeks in December when Sponge and loverboy Harvey **ahem** tie the knot & head off to the luxurious Super 8 Motel in Waynesboro, Mississippi for their honeymoon. :spanka:Quote:

THIS JUST IN!
A source close to both COCajun and nyknicksfan has told Ol' Three-Cents that loyal NOH.com members would love nothing more than to see him take his predictions and stick them up (and perpendicular to) his gluteal opening.
Added the source, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, "Miss Cleo missed her calling. She would've lasted longer as an ESPN hoops analyst. After all, even her sources are more accurate than those of that three-cent stooge posing as an insider." ;)
I can say this, that prediction of David shoving it, is 100% solid!!!
And will stand by it. I just hope when it happens he isn't anywhere near a natural disaster, in a city with pro sports.
alright guys, well i dont have beef with DA, i have always enjoyed reading his stuff online and listening to what he had to say. but i still believe him about the BD thing, and i dont think baron is going to accept the contract offer.
That's alright. DA's just our favorite ESPN "analyst" to love to hate. I don't think we would believe him if he said the sun would come up tomorrow. ;)Quote:

I'd still rather hear it first hand from Baron than anyone else. Because everything else reported about him that has come through sources close to him or his agent, seem to carry a different message than what Baron says himself.
