Western Playoffs Round 2 - New Orleans Pelicans @ Golden State Warriors- Game Two
Okay.
Take 2.
We all know how game one went. We came out rusty, the defense wasn't as sharp as we've seen it over the past 10 games or so, shots weren't going down, and although the officiating put the nail in the coffin, we didn't exactly help ourselves.
We've taken their best shot, and we've seen the strangest lineup we're likely to see the whole series. We've had a game now to get used to the Golden State home crowd and the vibe in the arena, and we've had a chance to shake out some of those inevitable nerves. Here's where the series really starts for me: we need Jrue to come out aggressive and try to get matched up with Curry on offense as much as possible: if Jrue can just drive through Curry again and again and again, that should be beneficial for consistent scoring. We all know that Steph can shoot, but he's not much of a defender.
If AD gets hot from range, then we all understand that's what he should do, but in game one he seemed to be settling a little (particularly through the second quarter, which is where most of the trouble happened). He needs to be aggressive, attack, and understand that he has the speed/touch to get by basically everyone they have. He is unguardable, so he should act like it.
We do that, and get the performance we've come to expect from playoff Rondo, plus 15+ points from Mirotic? We can easily head home with a 1-1 series on our hands.
Let's go guy! Revenge!
