Blazers injuries:

Will Barton- Questionable
Elliot Williams- Out

I think AD goes for 23-11 tonight with 3 blocks. Expecting big things to swing the rookie of the year talk. Also he should be starting now, so Ryan Anderson can jump start the offense off the bench in the first half.
-
Looking forward to seeing how Austin follows up his last game.
-
If there was any game for him to start this one would be it, Aldridge-Hickson will/would give Anderson-Lopez fits.
-
I'm cashing in on the Hornets winning this one on the road.
-
This feels like a winnable game for some reason. Hopefully I'm wrong at this point there's really nothing to play for, but experience and ping-pong balls. We'll be better in the long run to just keep losing however I have a nagging suspicion we pull out the win tonight.
On a side note I think Lillard could have a huge day against Vasquez.
-
No thinking about it, IMO. If we don't come out knowing that Lillard can and will go right by Vasquez, Lillard could drop 40.
But I'm looking forward to seeing Aldridge vs Davis on both ends. I hope someone gets the it in the game plan to put Davis near the rim. His hook shot works with either hand. How we aren't using it more baffles me. We'd rather rely on Lopez's super flat hook instead.
-
I expect a big game from our front court. Anderson is a bad matchup for Aldridge and Lopez is a bad matchup for Hickson. However, I do expect to lose :hihi:

Aldridge is also a bad matchup for Anderson

agreed, lillard just got off a big game against tony parker and the spurs, vasquez is gonna struggle
-
Too bad we don't have the personnel to be able to guard Lillard the way Dallas did.

You realize this statement makes zero sense, right?

Our front court can't do well and we still take a L? Or are you talking about the way I worded it? If the latter, I apologize. I was on a phone which made it tough to type.
-
time to end the streak Lets go pelicans
-
I get a feeling Lillard and Davis will be the top performers for each team tonight.
-
With Sasha starting for Matthews tonight there is no possible reason Vasquez should be on Lillard tonight.
Give Rivers that match up and see what happens, maybe he gets smoked but so would Vasquez.
-
Nvm, Matthews is starting.
-
Aminu is so brain dead sometimes.
-
-
-
Rivers is on him anyways lol
-
-
Lopez doesn't need to be taking those hooks he likes, it's pretty clear he can get under the rim against Hickson. Put in a little more work next time.
-
-
I hope we feed Davis like this when he comes in.
-
Run the offense through Robin Lopez, brilliant.

When other people don't carelessly turn the ball over, it has been pretty successful this game.
-
Veteran move, Rivers. Too bad you're a rookie that can't get that call.
-
-
I hate watching vazques play basketball ..

Yep

Davis is rolling to the basket for an easy layup/dunk .. Vasquez decides to go for the impossible floater

I can sort of get the thinking. Go for the floater, if you miss Davis will clean up. But precedent tells me he probably didn't see the the lob at all.
-
^ I can agree with that

Vasquez makes those floaters regularly. Hickson made an outstanding block.
-
Lopez gets 5 shots in 5 minutes. Anthony Davis yet to touch the basketball...
-
this team needs a quasi allstar vet so badly... somebody who can kind of keep them on their toes and lead by example, i bet we'll win games and cut on the mistakes if we did...
-
You can really see what makes elite players elite. I've seen Derrick Rose in that same situation a few times, but he finishes those layups because he's going 3/4th speed then accelerates to the next gear and creates space to lay it up and in.
-
Davis got the ball. What a noble concept.

My problem with Monty & Vazques
-
Putting Anthony Davis on the exclusively perimeter player Luke Babbit is a excellent idea.

Bully idea!

You have friggin Luke Babbit on Davis defensively as well. Put him inside, how is that so difficult?
I'm beginning to lose faith in Monty, or whoever the assistant coach who had this game on their schedule was.

You know he said that when Davis had been in the game for less than a minute, right?
-
would love to see Anthony Davis get a little more aggressive, as Rivers is starting to do.

Seems to be a good teacher. But a game manager, he doesn't seem to have it. Guys like Popovich game manage circles around him every game they play each other.
