Guard depth is the biggest need.
They need a shooter desperately. aR will take a couple years in that dept.
Brian Roberts still on the roster?
yes
Thanks WhoDatHornet96.
And what has been Warrick been doing? Maybe they're looking for a deal involving him.
Isn't Roberts' contract not guaranteed? We can just release him if we don't want him.
I am wondering if we are trying to move X. He has been in the dog house.
Warrick is still a member of the roster as well. Although I see it as a big possibility for him to be on the trading block
Brandon Rush..... Please, Lord be BRANDON RUSH!
He is reportedly "unhappy" in Golden State because he wants to start, but they might go with Harrison Barnes. They also have Richard Jefferson at the SF position, so they are stockpiled. PLEASE be Brandon Rush!
I could definitely see something along those lines happening
They might try to send us Delonte West!

I don't know if Dell Monty would go for that though.
I don't see why he wouldn't (if not immediately, then eventually). He'd clearly be our best SF. Rush is a lights out shooter, athletic, and a solid defender.
Basically everything we're looking for.
Unfortunately, Demps is probably looking at a smaller type of move (i.e. pick up a shooter from waivers). I'd also love to grab Rush though.
Speaking of Mavs, Stein says the Mavs are shopping Dominique Jones.
Michael McNamara @McNamara247
"Mystery player" as u guys are calling him is a guy who has started for 4 teams now and is on an expiring. That is the last I will say on it
-------------
sounds like mo williams to me just ran through the free agency list. Can't really see anyone else
Dont intend to tease you all about this- I came out two days before the GV for Pondexter trade was going down last year because I was 100% that was going down. In this scenario, Dell is floating out a couple guys before the October 31st deadline and is also willing to listen to offers on a few guys that he would rather not move but might if the return was good enough.
The one deal I know he proposed would have been a coup for the Hornets, but he was turned down.
Point is, he is active and we have seen him do this in two consecutive offseasons, making deals right before the start of the season
I'm going to go ahead and guess that Michael is talking about Raja Bell.
He's played for plenty of teams, has an expiring contract, fulfills two needs (long-range shooting and vet presence), and is disgruntled with his current team.
I, personally, want us to go after Korver or Morrow. Surely Atlanta doesn't need both of those snipers.
Then again, they are expiring contracts too.
What's Michael redd up to?

McNamara, no offense, but if you can't release names, then why would you release other information about the player leaving us to speculate? If the team doesn't want anyone to know who they re going after, don't report teaser information just to get more hits on your page/twitter feed. Or just post who they are showing interest in. If it's only rumors, label it as a rumor and attach a name to it.
This is stuff about reporters and reporting that drives me nuts. Sorry to vent. It's not just McNamara that does this... it happens all the time.
If he told us exactly which player he was talking about, he'd most likely risk losing the connection or connections he found this information from in the first place. By providing us hints, he's giving us the ability to guess for ourselves and not leaving us completely in the dark. It's completely understandable. As a fan, I know it's frustrating. But I'd rather get some information than no information at all.
Sometimes I'd rather just be surprised by a move than sit around waiting for a trade that may not happen. I dunno.. it just seems that if releasing information about the trade could compromise the trade/relationship with "sources" then why even release hints and leave it at "Sources say Hornets may make a move before Wednesday".
It's that PLUS the fact that at least one of the guys offered in the proposal figures to be a part of the Hornets regular rotation. As a fan, I dont want that guy to be effected if the Hornets shop him but cant make a deal and he has to play for us.
That's my thinking, but I could understand if others dont agree with it
A small move? Or a "small" move? *wink wink*
If he would come in and start right away, then that leads me to believe it would have to be a point guard
I'm actually wondering if Jason Smith gets traded this season. He'll be hard to keep long term and Lopez is playing well enough that he'll get fewer minutes than he deserves. I think a fan favorite getting shipped out this season is a given. We already lost Goose.
It's clearly mo williams guys. 4 teams started for, expiring and would start for us.
Either way, i appreciate the info because it gives us something to speculate about before the season starts.
I initially thought that as well. But it wouldn't make sense. Utah just traded for Moe. Plus, we couldn't give them anything back to sufficiently compensate them without giving up a semi-valuable/valuable piece in return. They are really weak at the 1. As are we.
