Game Thread: Los Angeles Lakers (8-10) @ New Orleans Hornets (5-11)
-
I'm shocked the Lakers aren't getting Nash AND Gasol back tonight, it would be fitting lol
-
I'm assuming Pau Gasol is out again.
-
He is, out indefinitely.
They also let him know that if the situation doesn't change (his play on the court in D'Antoni's system) then they will move him.
-
They aren't exactly setting the world on fire, but we just don't have enough weapons right now.
-
Doesn't Kobe pass 30,000 points tonight?
-
They suffered a heartbreak last night in Houston.
-
I wish Gasol and Davis were playing. Want to see how AD would do defensively.

PELS STEAL THIS ONE :coolg:

Yeah he only needs 13. Will have that by halftime. Anyone thinks he plays long enough to pass KAJ? He is about 8,300 points away
-
My lame Laker fan brother and I are flying in from Corpus today just for the game, ill be rocking my Dan Dickau jersey at the bottom of section 114.... Come holler. FYI - David Stern will be in attendance to see Kobe get 30,000.

Sometimes you look at him and think ya sure he can play for at least 4 more seasons with 25ppg, but then on other nights you're not as sure if he should. Honestly, I feel like unless he is competing for a title, if he stays way past his prime he will be kind of tarnished (too strong of a word) that he was chasing the all time scoring record which would suck. It's really all gonna depend on what he does after this contract.
-
I'd love to see him scoring only 12 points in a loss.

Lakers are 48-19 lifetime vs. the Hornets franchise.
In three games last season the Hornets dropped all three in tight games 93-91, 88-85, and 107-101(OT).
Last Hornets win vs. the Lakeers was a 93-88 playoff win in LA to tie the series 2-2 in the 2010/11 playoffs.
Last Home win for the Hornets was 1 week proir to open the series 1-0 with a 109-101 win.
But like you, I think the Hornets steal this one if they just let Kobe have his and lock down everyone else.
I just hope the Hornets are not looking at the Lakers 8-10 record.

And Pau was playing in all 3 IIRC. If NO keeps this tight and adheres to the hack-a-Dwight plan late, they win this game.

The Hornets could probably actually beat the Lakers, but the refs won't give them that opportunity. 5 v 8 tonight. Not gonna bother recording.

Win. I honestly dont think it is that big of a deal to be the team that Kobe scored his 30,000th point against.
