I would highly doubt it.

well, we beat the odds to get AD, and I think we will have to do it again if we are going to land Oden.....let's just hope that he likes what we have to say and what we have to offer him here.....
Heat or Spurs obv. 23 pages in vain.
for someone who doesn't want the spotlight or high expectations I don't understand how the heat would be a favorite choice, heat fans I know are already talking about how he would fix their only problem and would guarantee a 3peat, unrealistic expectations were a nono I thought
too much pressure with the heat, and lack of center depth, i think its either us or the spurs where he could play behind davis and ryno, or duncan and splitter.
Predicted roster with numbers if Oden signs with us:
0 Al-Farouq Aminu SF, PF
1 Tyreke Evans SG, PG, SF
2 Darius Miller SF
5 Jeff Withey C
10 Eric Gordon SG, PG
11 Jrue Holiday PG
14 Jason Smith C, PF
22 Brian Roberts PG
23 Anthony Davis PF, C
25 Austin Rivers PG, SG
32 Anthony Morrow SG, SF
33 Ryan Anderson PF
34 Greg Stiemsma C
52 Greg Oden C
55 Pierre Jackson PG
Not sure what number Morrow will wear since Roberts wears his usual number, so I just went with 32 but almost went with 24.
We will be stacked with players able to play multiple positions either way.
5 Centers
4 Power forwards
4 Small forwards
4 Shooting guards
6 Point guards
Morrow will wear ... #3.
NOBODY wears baron davis' jersey
If you buy something without first learning everything you can about what it is your are buying, you are not doing your homework.
To buy something and then discover there is a defect in what you purchased, that would have been discovered had you done more than a haphazard investigation prior to your purchase for fear that someone else might swoop in and steal your treasure, is just not responsible and failing to do your homework.
IF this is truly your stand than please be careful if/when you buy a home. There's no takeski's backski's.
You are completely ignoring his previous post. There's only so much due dilligence you can do before contract submittal. This is a player, not a piece of property ie a house, and you're signing him to work for you, not to own. They get an 'inspection' in the form of a physical after the contract is agree'd upon.
For some reason you are having problems with the concept that all transactions are pending physicals, you are not "buying" anything until then and even then his contract will be mostly non-guaranteed. I am sorry you just can't understand this and I will just bud out and continue to let you live in your fantasy world.
Basketball players are controlled and driven by their agents and the other side poer brokers in the game, guys like Worldwide Wes and the like. What the player actually wants is secondary, because sometimes these interests have their own agendas, and sometimes they think about things for players that the players don't. Oden is going to get a lot of pressure from these types, including his own agent, to sign with Miami because that is where the outside capital can me maximized. If Oden flat refuses to go to Miami, then they will push him hard to San Antonio because at leat there he will get on national TV. The only way Oden lands in New Orleans is if (a) he really wants to be here and (b) he is strong enough to tell his agent and everyone else to go fly a kite. They are going to tell him that he is on borrowed time and that he needs to go somewhere where he can get as much money as possible, and the possibilitites for outside money (money beyond just the salary he gets from the team) are just stronger in Miami.
The fact that we are on the list means that there is interest from him, but how much? And is it enough in his mind to pass up all of the extra money he can get in Miami (whether or not there is any extra to be had is another story, but agents never go down that road with their clients)
If you buy a house and the seller failed to disclose a serious issue you can have the sale voided .
I think we have a good shot if Greg's head is in the right place. IF he is looking just for a paycheck and to ride out a career, its not us. If he is really looking to restart his career and be part of a young team to win a championship, we will win out.
Can't wait for an update on this.
i see a lot of people saying he'd go to Miami to get a ring. The guys missed the last 3 years and has knees that are being held together with scotch tape.. hes going wherever gives him the most guaranteed money. you can take that to the bank.
