Sweet, but it would have to be via S&T because they don't have the space to sign him outright.

are they planning on trading their whole team
Utterly moronic if Howard doesn't agree to an extension. He won't stay in Houston as a free agent.
Is it 25 million that he loses out on if he doesn't re-sign with whatever team he is traded to? If so does he really pass on that much money? I'm sure that was a factor with Williams re-signing with the Nets.
Well, he would be committing another four or five years of his NBA prime. I daresay even that fact would make you give less weight to the money. Maybe I'm wrong but I look at the rockets and see an utter mess of a team if this trade goes through. No picks, bad contracts, not a whole bunch of talent outside Howard, etc.
Pretty much.
McGee has been offered 5 years/50M
Source; Hoopshype
The only money he actually loses is 4.5% raises vs. 7.5% raises. You really shouldn't consider the 5th year as extra money unless there is reasonable career threatening injury concern. If Dwight's back is ok then he could probably make up the 3% raise difference with marketing opportunities in the NY market. Playing for Prokhorov will probably help him get international commercials. Even if Houston thought they could get CP3, I think playing in Brooklyn with DWill, Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace is more appealing than playing with CPKnee and Orlando scrubs in Houston. If Houston gets Howard instead of Bynum then they really just decided to rebuild around Brook Lopez and Marshon Brooks.
And I don't think money was a big factor with DWill. He said he was undecided until the Joe Johnson trade made the Nets appear to be the better team to play on.
Could Brooklyn even have the ability to sign Howard next offseason without trading for him?
Please keep McGee far away from my beloved Hornets.
Small fish movement rumours..

I would hate Howard so much more...

I'd like to see what this is about.
