New info on the new nike jerseys

So looks like Nike and the NBA have released their first little bite around how the uni's will be done. Four designs - The Association (classic white), The Icon (franchise colours), one inspired by the "athletes mindset", and another inspired by "the community". On top 8 teams will be getting classic editions this season. The link above also has a preview of one of the warriors jersey too. Pretty cool so far, and really pushing this recycled material side of them too (gotta be seen to be green).

What are everyone's thoughts on the four jerseys for the Pelicans? Whether the mardi gras will be pushed in under the community inspired from the get go, the athlete inspired also sounds interesting - I'm keen to see how athlete inspired it is, and how far removed from the other 3 it will be. It's going to be a potentially expensive year for jersey collectors, especially for any pels fans looking to jump on a Pelicans staple like Asik....or boogie and rondo (depending on how you feel with only the single year on the books left.

Edit: It seems they will also be removing the home/away concept with these new four jerseys. Basically the home team picks what jersey they wear and the away team contrasts it.

Nike and the NBA are doing away with home and road jerseys. Each team will have four uni options and home team picks, road team contrasts it

Wow that Sac Town one is very sleek. One of the best new strips I've seen in a long time

Wonder if the Pelicans uni gets tweaked. Perhaps make the "New Orleans" on the white unis bigger.

When do we get our friggin' Gold jerseys?

BTW, I like that Nike is going back to the cutout arms, like old school.
Now maybe we can get Brow & Boogie to stop wearing those ugly undershirts, or at least get them some that match the jersey?

I don't really buy jersey but I would def buy the red jersey! Those are AWESOME!

Those mock-ups are outstanding,
but I wouldn't mix blue shorts with the red jersey.

EVERYTHING else is beautiful!

Why all the black and gold? Those are Saints colors. Not Pelicans colors. Not New Orleans colors. Let it stay with the Saints.

Because gold is a team color
and black goes with everything, especially gold.

From what I gather, RIP sleeved jerseys. Maybe we will finally get the Mardi Gras edition sleeveless like the mock-up. I assume this will be The Community edition. The Player Mindset edition could be a gold jersey with the navy and red elements. I just wish they would increase the font size of "New Orleans" on the front, finally.

That black and gold one is my single favorite Pelicans jersey I have seen.

I never even wanted black and gold given the Saints, but that mock up has me converted.

That should be an official uniform.

And honestly, in hindsight, I kinda wish we had gone black and gold to form a sort of cohesive New Orleans sports identity.

And we all know that person put 3 of those jerseys there because of the Saints. Not because gold is a "team color."

Meh. The Pelicans should be black and gold. I love that Pittsburgh has every team the same color. City pride. Especially since Benson owns both teams. And even more so since the Jazz have the best color scheme taken.
