I just don't get the love for Monty from Mr. Smith. The losses (when we were healthy)to poor Eastern Conference teams was just inexcusable and cost us
So with the increased cap considerations, where does the MLE rank among contracts now, are they the new vet min?
His strategy is just terrible. There were MANY times during Game Four where I and the guy sitting next to me were screaming at him for not making obvious
I'm not opposed to keeping Monty around a little while longer to help develop our core. But we both know that he won't win us a championship, so he has
Pretty much yes. And I don't think another coach is changing that. Or at least the chances of us hiring a coach that can change that are slim to none.
The only reason to keep Monty around is to get AD to resign, and to be honest, I think that is what is happening.
Monty can develop players,
You know, you don't have to hire from the coaching carousel. new coaches are hired all the time.
Think about it this way, if we go out
Its reality. Is there a clear cut better coach we can hire? If not then why make a change?
So in summation:
Most pelicans fans want Monty to stick around, because "all other coaches are unknowns"
The reason we made the playoffs has more to do with OTHER teams injuries, than ours.... Just saying.
While I somewhat agree with this, I think the days of guys taking 4 year MLE deals are practically over. Just makes no sense. I think it can have some
I don't think it will change that much. It's value has always been that it's the largest contract teams without cap space, also known as playoff teams,
He also makes far less than Harden too. Compare nearly every SF to LBJ and they will pale in comparison as well. That doesn't mean they are bad players,
I would assume owners would not want this. MLE contracts are usually among the worst given out in retrospect.
Just another battle the owners
I agree with you. Considering his age, AD gives a great interview, even in these kinds of tricky situations. I'm not sure I've ever heard him say the
I'm fine with just about anything that gets rid of the "hack a..." strategy. It's not fun for the fans to watch, and it slows down the game.
